Please see below we currently have vacancies for:

2x Apprentice Early Years Practitioners - Level 2

This is a 12 month position from 1st September 2022 to 31st August 2023

Hours: 32.5 Hours per week, Term Time Only

Wage: National Minimum Wage for Apprentices

Position 1

7.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday


Position 2

9.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday


This post is term time only.

As a Maintained Nursery School we specialise in educating and caring for young children aged between 2 to 5 years old.

You will be required to work in the classroom areas under the supervision of our teachers and teaching assistants.  This is a genuine opportunity to work within an Ofsted “Outstanding” maintained nursery school and could be the stepping stone for a future career in both early years and schools.  You will be regarded as a valued member of the school staff and expected to contribute to the success of a school that inspires young minds. You will:

•Support children on a one to one basis or in small groups

•Get creative in helping a child/children to achieve their developmental steps

•Assist with breakfast/lunchtime/after school clubs

•Help with assessments and inputting of data

•Changing children as required and after training administer basic first aid.

•Take charge of resources storage

•Assist in planning and creating inspiring learning environments

•Prepare simple, healthy snacks

•Any other duties which are relevant to the smooth running of the nursery as directed by the Head Teacher or members of staff.

You should:

•Be able to capture a child's attention and imagination

•Be creative and energetic and have a natural ability to facilitate learning through play

•Have excellent communication skills with both young children and adults

•Be positive about learning in a patient, nurturing and child focused manner

•Be responsible and have excellent levels of attendance and punctuality

•Love spending time outside whatever the weather

•Be caring and willing to nurture all children including those with additional needs

•Be aware of the high profile of the Nursery School and uphold our standards at all times, understanding how your behaviour reflects on your professional role

•Be flexible

•Be able to understand the power of glitter!!

Candidates should note that this is a fixed term position for 12 months.
