Governors

The Governing body meets each term.  At this meeting an agenda is followed which involves feedback about how the school is progressing against the School Development Plan targets.

Governors also hear and question reports on how the school is supporting specific groups of pupils.  It is also the role of governors to oversee the financial management of the school and the safeguarding of all pupils. The Instrument of Government (Updated in Academic Year 19/20) states that the Governing Body shall consist of 9 Governors as follows:

2 Parent Governors  /  1 Headteacher  /  1 Staff  /  1 Local Authority  /  4 Co-opted Governors

The Governing Body have not appointed any Associate Governors for the Academic Year 2020-21

 The Governing Body appointed 1 committees and 1 Review Panel in September 2020 – other appeals committees will be appointed as and when required:

Pay – Meets as necessary to review whole school pay decisions prior to reporting in fact to FGB

Heads Performance Management Panel – Meets once yearly and makes a recommendation to Pay Committee regarding Headteacher’s Pay decision.

The Full Governing Body ratifies decisions following recommendation from the committees/panel above (unless otherwise stated in School Policy/Terms of Reference), and all minutes are available in the school office, with the exception of confidential minutes.

Dr Rachael Sharpe has a PhD in Science Education, a BSc (Hons) in Education Studies and Science and is a qualified secondary school physics teacher. Rachael works as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln and works on research projects to improve attainment and attitudes towards science in secondary schools. Rachael is keen to support children from all backgrounds to develop and excel in learning. This is Rachael’s second Governor post.

Vicky Chapman  is an Assistant Headteacher at Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship, Ambergate Sports College. Vicky has a (BA Hons) Primary Education with QTS degree, and is a Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) for LEARN teaching school. Vicky is able to support Wyndham Park Nursery School by sharing her experience and expertise of SEND and education. 

Head Teacher Laura Cook is Head Teacher at Wyndham Park Nursery School.  She joined the school as Head in September 2014.  Before this she worked in a large primary school and an infant school in Lincoln. Laura is a Local Leader of Education (LLE) for LEARN teaching school and was an Early Years Ofsted Inspector until September 2021.
Staff Governor Lucy Bradley
Co-Opted Governor Lorraine Lynch  is keen to help the Nursery school any way she can. She works at Marks & Spencer, where she is the stores Fire Health & Safety Officer. In her role she ensures a safe environment for staff and customers and she brings this expertise to our Nursery. Lorraine also has 10 years’ experience of working with 5 – 16 year old girls within the Guiding Association, 7 of those were of a District Commissioner responsible for up to 200 young girls and leaders.

Jason Leeks was co-opted to the School’s Governing Board in November 2020 and has responsibility for supporting and helping development of Wyndham’s financial and sustainability planning.  Jason is an Executive Director for an Agency of the Ministry of Defence and brings over 25 years experience of developing and delivering successful strategic plans to the role and is very keen to champion the vital role of Maintained Nursery Schools in Lincolnshire in ensuring outstanding Early Years education provision, especially WPNS!
